Quick-Start The Controller Test

    Make sure your controller is connected to the computer, mobile or tablet: either by USB cord or with bluetooth.

    On the top of this page, click one of the three icons. Choose the one that best represents the controller you are testing.

    Then click any button on your controller. You should see a 'Start Test' orange button appear.
  • 4
    Click the 'Start Test' button!

If the 3d model that appears on the screen reacts correctly to your button presses, your controller is good to go!

Trouble-Shooting Guide

  • If you press the buttons on your controller but the orange 'Start Test' button doesn't appear, make sure that your controller is connected to the computer.

    If you did and it still doesn't work try refreshing the page, or connecting your controller to the computer in a different way (bluetooth/USB)

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Which controllers would this work with?

    Any controller you could connect to your computer can be checked with this test. Don't be fooled by the visual style of the controller illustration - a switch joy con or third-party controllers would work just as well.

    Just choose the icon that most resembles your controller, and our test should take it from there.

    Why do I get different buttons on the side next to the controller depending on which controller type I choose?

    The buttons you can see change according to which controller type our test identifies. So if you're using a PS5 controller, for example. we will give you options that don't exist on the XBOX controller, like testing the gyroscope or changing the color of the controller light.

    Any minimum requirements?

    This test should work on all modern browsers.

    Why wouldn't I just play a game and check it that way?

    Our test tries to be as complete as possible with the features it checks. You might not have a game at hand that uses all the features of the controller at once - and this test does.

    What happened to the old test?

    We developed a new test that is now able to test the gyroscope and other features on the controller, and that's what you're seeing here. If you need the old test, for any reason, click here.
